Why Urban Myth Dissolution Center Is Trending Right Now

Urban Myth Dissolution Center achieved 89% positive reviews (652 reviews) after 501 days on Steam, cementing itself as one of 2025's highest-rated indie mysteries. With only 240 peak concurrent players, it's a hidden gem for a niche audience. The -67% 7-day trend shows it's well past its launch spike but maintains a dedicated player base.

This is what happens when Ace Attorney meets Paranormasight: a detective-horror visual novel that prioritizes narrative and atmosphere over puzzle agency. The target audience is story-first players who embrace linear progression, strong worldbuilding, and don't mind that the game guides you through solutions. Each case unfolds like an episode of a twisted paranormal investigation series.

Players rave about the masterful storytelling, atmospheric art and music, and the plot twist that recontextualizes the entire experience. Main criticism: it's far more visual novel than detective game, with rigid linearity and hand-held puzzle-solving that leaves little room for genuine deduction.

What a ride! Honestly sad I slept on this for so long. There is something nostalgic about the vibe, music and atmosphere of this game and the way it told a story kept me gripped from the start. This was something special and If you are a fan of old horror and mystery anime such as Higurashi no naku koro ni, definitely check this one out.

This is like if Ace Attorney and Paranormasight had a weird ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up child. I don't think I want to say anything because this game is truly best going into it blind. If the game is starting to lose you, I would recommend pushing on it's REALLY worth it. Also side note but this game actually HAS A PHYSICAL RELEASE (Japan release only tho) and WE will be buying that

story: A gameplay: C- this is much more of a visual novel than a 'solve the mystery' kind of game, as it felt noticably hand-holdy while playing. That being said, i did enjoy attempting to solve the mysteries before being spoon-fed the answers.

Such a beautiful game, from the art to the story. It’s an absolute masterpiece! While it is a linear visual novel, the music, art, and storytelling are so incredible that it’s a must-play, whether you typically like visual novels or not. And the cherry on top is the fantastic ending—it completely changes your perspective on the entire game. Please, play it! :3
