Why Buckshot Roulette Is Trending in 2026
Buckshot Roulette is one of the most remarkable indie success stories ever. Created by solo developer Mike Klubnika and published by Critical Reflex, the $2.99 horror game about playing Russian roulette with a shotgun has sold over 8 million copies — more than the entire Octopath Traveler series and ahead of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The developer called the milestone "insane," noting "there are whole countries with fewer citizens" than the total number of players.
In 2026, excitement is spiking again because console ports were confirmed for release this year. Players on PlayStation and Xbox who missed the Steam version will finally be able to play one of the defining horror games of 2024. Search interest for "Buckshot Roulette console" and "Buckshot Roulette review" remains extremely high, making this an evergreen must-cover title.

About Buckshot Roulette
Buckshot Roulette strips horror down to its psychological essentials. You sit across from a demonic dealer in an underground casino, and between you is a shotgun loaded with a random mix of live and blank shells. Each turn, you must choose: shoot the dealer, or shoot yourself — and use the items available to shift the odds in your favor. The tension is excruciating.
The game's genius lies in its information warfare. You know how many live and blank shells are in the chamber, but not their order. Items like cigarettes (restore health), handcuffs (skip a turn), magnifying glass (reveal the next shell), and hand saw (double damage) create a rich strategy layer beneath the horror surface. Every decision feels genuinely life-or-death. Few games manage to make a 2-hour experience feel this unforgettable.

A fun and addictive, shotgun themed, Russian roulette inspired, shootin tootin good time. This is a total blast with friends and a great way to spend a few hours.
Fun ass game. Is extremely addicting. Trying to get all of the achievements is a pain though I'm still in the process of trying to do that. i also wish online was more popular but that's not really the game's fault. I reccommend tho!
Super boring. Won on my first attempt, game doesn't seem to introduce more interesting things, animations are so incredibly long, I see no way to speed up the game. 0/10.
