Why The Rogue Prince of Persia Is Trending Right Now

The Rogue Prince of Persia isn't trending based on player count—it's holding steady with 0 concurrent players and flat 7-day momentum. But don't let that fool you: 91% positive reviews from 1,315 players, free post-launch updates, and Evil Empire's stellar track record keep it on the radar.

It's a Dead Cells spiritual successor—same developer Evil Empire, similar roguelike structure—but leans harder into parkour and platforming over combat depth. Target audience: indie roguelike veterans tired of bloated AAA releases, and platformer fans who want progression tied to actual story.

Players rave about the soundtrack, fluid parkour-platforming, and Evil Empire's commitment to free updates. Main gripe: wall-running controls are punishingly difficult for some, with a few refunds citing accessibility.

Absolutely incredible soundtrack. Really crisp gameplay too.

Dead Cells with slightly less/simpler combat but super fun platforming.

Fantastic game, great art style, fun combat options and it’s still getting updates after launch… which are free! Evil Empire are quickly becoming one of my favourite developers, first on their dlc work for dead cells and now with this release.

Dead Cells with less gameplay depth but with more actual storytelling. The parkour system is fun. It's a good game, if it wasn't published by ubisoft I bet more people would give it a chance. I also didn't pay full price for it so there's that.

I had to refund the game because of "wall running" problem. There was a section that I couldn't even get through. The way wall running works is too taxing for me somehow. I wish that wasn't the case because I really enjoyed the rest of it.
