Split Fiction — Is It Worth Playing in 2026?

Easily the best couch co-op game to date, with a huge variety of mechanics and tons of content

[i]Split Fiction is another amazing title by Hazelight. I think It's one of the best games I have ever played, the enviroment, the story everything feels so right. It's so unique with all different camera perspectives and when you think WOW this is great it can't even get better, the next chapter/part will blow you away even more!!! I figured out very early on what twists and traumas both girls had; however, despite this, the atmosphere and storytelling still managed to make me bawl my eyes out a total of four times. Even if you catch on, it’s still definitely worth playing. There is a bit of jank with some of the weirder angled bits, but besides that, the story alone makes it worth playing. The gameplay, when not jank, is also incredibly fun at times.

Towards the end, the game starts to feel a bit repetitive, even though the atmosphere and environments keep changing. At the same time, the pacing picks up, which helps maintain momentum and keeps things engaging. Excellent dynamics, beautiful set pieces, and responsive gameplay throughout. The story is decent — not something I’ll remember for years, but still well done. I wouldn’t call it a masterpiece, but it’s a very solid experience overall. 8/10.

We have finished it, just buy It takes two instead, that was miles better than this game, or if you have played It takes two get dementia and play again that game. I did not like Split Fiction. Dialogue is horrible throughout the entire game
