I don't even remember when I bought Dark Souls 1, but I know it's been a few years. I was always put off by the gameplay, which is outdated despite being a remaster (Titanite Demon hitboxes, getting hit through walls, sometimes crazy runbacks), but just like with The Witcher 1, you just have to grit your teeth and give it time. Your head gets used to it, and suddenly you're playing one of the best games ever. 10 out of 10.
You Died: Remastered Hard? Yes. Frustrating? Sometimes. Unfair? Never. Worth it? Without a doubt. Dark Souls is truly the Dark Souls of Dark Souls.
Remains excellent, even after so many years. Return to Lordran (community event) is a great time to experience it.
I’d recommend Dark Souls Remastered if you’re okay with a game that doesn’t explain much and forces you to learn through failure. It’s challenging and sometimes frustrating, but beating bosses and discovering shortcuts feels extremely rewarding. The combat is slower and more tactical, which makes every mistake matter.
1st game that I kept playing after beating it, back in 2011. Great times. Play this if you've never played it before. GL.
The game may be awesome for other gamers but not for me. I regret buying it. It's not my cup of tea.
