A really cool way to spice up the Block breaking genre. This game pulled me in so much. It's extremely addicting with a lot of fun and unique ways to play. great game, simple roguelite with unique gameplay, not hard to get 100% achievement
Every now and then a game comes along that checks all the rights boxes. Easy to learn, difficult to master and with that "just one more run" feeling. Ball X Pit is this game. Combining vertical scroller, pong, roguelite horde survival and city building, with characters that add unique spins (sometimes literally) to "combat", there really isn't a dull moment.
Started like a super cocktail — looks like a chaotic mix of BallZ, Vampire Survivors, Cult of the Lamb and a shmup. Tons of heroes, tons of ball combos, wild mutations… feels insanely varied. But the more I play, the clearer it gets: no matter how many mechanics the game throws at you, the core loop stays samey and drags the whole thing down.
This game has a lot of potential, and I genuinely wanted to enjoy it. Unfortunately, the base-building and upgrade systems feel unnecessarily tedious. Your base becomes cluttered and disorganized far too quickly, and trying to fix it ends up feeling more like a chore than part of the fun. In the end, this constant maintenance distracts too much from the core gameplay and takes away from the overall experience.
