Why Badlands Crew - Drive, Command, Conquer Is Trending Right Now

Badlands Crew is getting attention for being a well-reviewed game (82% positive, 703 reviews) that's been abandoned. With 0 players in the last 24 hours and no 7-day growth, it's the textbook definition of a dead title. Yet players keep defending it—one reviewer called the "abandonware" label unfair, citing 35-40 hours of solid content.

This is a single-player roguelike strategy game, not a live-service title, so the player count doesn't reflect quality. It stands out for obsessive customization (name everything from your war machine to your crew) and Mad Max-inspired aesthetics with real strategic depth. Built for fans of turn-based tactics and campaign-driven roguelikes who want ownership over their loadout.

Players love the customization depth, strategic combat, and that it nails the Mad Max vibe with charm. The main knock: controls feel clunky at first and early-game difficulty is brutal—you will lose your crew and start over.

For anyone saying this game is abandonware and not worth the money. It took me roughly 35-40 hours to complete the main missions, not counting the extras. The game is worth it. Not hugely polished but worth the money.

You can custom name everything. My war machine was called the taco truck and we had Capt. Donald at the helm while Senorita Coochie manned the guns. Fun times

Amazing game if you love the Mad Max franchise. Very fun upgrade and customization mechanics. The controls take a little getting used to but it's 100% worth it

Everyone's a badass until you try to take on a faction HQ during the first 3 hours of the game and get your whole crew killed. I don't care if this has been 'abandoned.' This game is fun asf. I'm not even mad. That was amazing.

Fantastic, just like all the other "...-Crew" games!

👎 Not Recommended 7h played

It's... boring? Giving more buttons to press made this game overloaded with a ton of things that add nothing but more microcontrol. Truck building is also boring and adds nothing of interest and value If it was more rail-like like previous games it could be good. But honestly the setting itself didn't work for me so yeah Playable but "meh"
