Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege — Is It Worth Playing in 2026?

Quick verdict Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is trending — +531 Steam followers in the last 7 days, per SteamDB as of June 29, 2026. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is worth a look in 2026 — 82% of its 790,616 Steam reviews are positive, and peaked at 75,060 concurrent players in the last 24 hours.

Why Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Is Trending Right Now

Rainbow Six Siege still pulls 75,060 peak concurrent players with an 82% positive rating from nearly 800k reviews, but the momentum is brutal: down 44% over the past 7 days. After a decade online, the tactical shooter's core remains solid, but the player-base erosion signals the genre is shifting or the grind is burning players out.

Siege rewards planning and execution over twitch reflexes—you're building attack/defense loadouts before rounds start, making each match feel like chess with bullets. It's built for hardcore tactical players and competitive esports fans, not casual shooters looking for run-and-gun action. The free-to-play model removes friction for trying it.

Players are obsessed with the tactical depth and squad coordination—they keep loading in despite brutal losses. The core pain: cheating, skill-gap stomping, and unreliable teammates are burning out even die-hards.

This game is an equivalent to the meme "Coughing baby vs. Nitrogen Bomb". Coughing baby, being my teammates, of course. I can't understand how they can be so dumb, like, the combined IQ of every teammate that I que with is somewhere around room temperature. Sometimes I wonder if I hate my life, but then I boot up Siege and the answer always clears up, it's YES.

Common Questions About Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege worth playing in 2026?

Yes, if you want tactical depth over run-and-gun reflexes. The 82% positive rating from 790k+ reviews proves it's earned respect, and it's free. But incoming players face a punishing learning curve and a player base in decline—only commit if you're prepared for a grind.

How many players does Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege have?

24-hour peak of 75,060 concurrent players—still substantial, but down 44% over 7 days. That's not a seasonal dip; it's a sharp decline, suggesting player attrition is accelerating.

Is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer or co-op?

Primarily 5v5 tactical team-based multiplayer PvP. There's a co-op PvE mode (Terrorist Hunt) for wave-based survival against AI, but ranked and casual multiplayer are the core focus. Crossplay support varies by platform.

How long does it take to beat Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege?

There's no campaign to beat—Siege is an endless multiplayer experience. Hitting competitive rank takes 50–100+ hours depending on skill; mastering 70+ operators and map callouts is a years-long investment.
