The Ratline — Is It Worth Playing in 2026?

Amazing game. If you liked The Return of the Obra Dinn, Disco Elysium, and maybe even Papers Please and why not Pentiment, this game is for you. It does require quite a lot of patience towards the end, since there are so many clues floating around, but the experience is definitely worth it!

The Ratline delivers! Fans of the modern detective game (Obra Dinn, Golden Idol, Roottrees) will love the latest from criminally under-appreciated developer Owlskip Games. Also be sure to check out Rivals, Riley and Rochelle, and Conspiracy!, if you end up loving The Ratline. The major players in the genre owe a lot to Owlskip - hopefully this is their turn for the spotlight!

Honestly a great game. It makes you think harder and work for the answer instead of just giving it to you. I appreciate the dev for actually caring about his players too. honestly great game and 100% looking forward to what else comes

Really fun detective game - there's good puzzle diversity and challenge, and the way past cases loop into the current case brings the whole story together in exciting ways. There's a generous hint system so even with the difficulty of some of the puzzles, I don't think anyone should be put off by the challenge if the concept of the game appeals to them.

There's a snoring dog slider! And nazis to bring to justice. Somewhere between A Hand With Many Fingers and The Roottrees Are Dead, a great procedural game.
