If you're wondering why the reviews are negative it's because this game pulls from the Dark and Darker community who are incredibly insufferable when it comes to how a game should be balanced or played. Just go look at the reviews for that game, they all hate it but they play it anyway. For a DaD clone this game is great.
The Midnight Walkers has a lot of potential. I feel if they added a block or parry system would be nice. The sprint speed also needs to be increased by a lot. And I am sure I could go on and on and on. But the game has potential. I am excited to see where this game will go in the future. Is it worth buying right now? - I would say, probably not right now. Keep an eye out for updates this year and full release. By then, I am sure this game will be a good one.
I’m really enjoying The Midnight Walkers! The combat feels great and the learning curve is very well balanced — easy to pick up, but it keeps getting more engaging as you progress. Character progression is excellent and gives a real sense of growth over time. I’m playing in duos and we’re having a lot of fun — lots of laughs along the way. The launch was smooth as well: the game released on time, no server crashes, and no bugs so far. Overall, a top-tier experience. Highly recommended!
If you are on the fence I would say stay your hand for a little longer but honestly, they are constantly listening to feedback. It has only gotten better since the game came out and if it keeps going in this direction it will become quite the good game. A duo's mode would really seal the deal on me completely recommending it.

Random game ban for no reason at all - First game ban ever on my steam account because of their incompetence Eventually got a reply from support via email - unbanned and apologised for their mistake but still, inconvenience & waste of a weekend off work. Likely stay away, might pop back at some point ---- Game itself is fun, well optimised and good graphics. Dark and Darker with zombies so if you like that, you'll enjoy this but they need to fix their anti-cheat system.
