If you can dig crusty old games this is a quality FPS from that neat phase in between Doom 2 and Quake. When other companies were doing interesting things with 2D First Person design. Great remaster as usual. I was big fan of this game as a kid even though I sucked at it. First time I actually beat it now.
It's a great remaster of an average game, some of the level designs are *real* stinkers but it still scratches that itch of shooting stormtroopers for a couple hours. Nightdive is way more qualified to remaster these old Star Wars games than Aspyr I'll say that.
Missed out on this when it came out, when I was a kid. Finally thanks to the remaster I can play through a lot easier. Really enjoyed my time with it. Some levels can be a bit maze like, but not too frustrating. Good start to Katarns story. Another great Nightdive remaster that is faithful and adds some QoL improvements.
Ran great, no complications. You just need to have a liking for classic shooters to enjoy this one and that's all it takes.
A really great remake of dark forces. Looks good. Plays well. The difficulty is a bit uneven and the controls are unusual for todays standards but it feels like an FPS from the 90s. Highly recommended if one wants to see the start of Kyle Katarns story or just wants to replay an old FPS. Also just a great remaster. Score: 7/9
A decent remaster... but why would I recommend a 30 year old game that looks slightly better for 40 dollars when the original is WAY cheaper, and can be played on a source port that essentially plays the same as this? Only difference is achievements, and I feel anymore that only a small margin of people actually care about that anymore.
