Why Resident Evil Is Trending Right Now

Resident Evil exploded with a +140% surge over 7 days, hitting 1,848 peak players in the last 24 hours. For a game released in 2015, that's a significant resurgence. The 91% positive rating across 14,766 reviews suggests the remaster is pulling in both franchise veterans and players discovering what invented survival-horror.

Unlike modern horror that leans on jumpscares, Resident Evil builds dread through atmosphere and resource scarcity. It's built for players who want puzzle-driven survival over cheap thrills—and the tank controls aren't a flaw, they're part of the tension. Target audience: classic horror fans, franchise enthusiasts, and anyone willing to invest in a 9-year-old remaster at $19.99.

Players love the relentless atmosphere and puzzle-first design that still works nearly 30 years later. The main complaint: dated mechanics (tank controls, lengthy animations) and brutal backtracking interrupt pacing.

great game even if I need the IQ of Einstein to solve the puzzles, and oh yeah how could i forget my favorite part sitting through a 10-second animation every time I have to open a door!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYYY I LOVE THAT SO MUCH HAHAHAHAHHA

at the beginning you are confused, but once you figure out that this is basically a puzzle and strategy game, it becomes extremely exciting, the horror comes from the atmosphere and your lack of resources, not cheap tricks like jumpscares

A classic, the atmosphere is amazing, the definitive best way to experience re1 imo. Some parts are still creepy asf A remake in style of re4 and re2 would go sooo hard

finally, I have completed this absolute ♥♥♥♥. I mean it wasn't that bad but at some points the backtracing were crazy and too much but after 2 years I have finally caught up with the francize

I know some people dislike tank controls in this era, but I still think this game won't get old. Remake + hd remaster of the milestone of survival horror genre. You can still play and enjoy it. The atmosphere of the creepy mansion still works!
