What the Community Is Saying
Players rave about the co-op experience, character variety, and best-in-class art direction. The main complaint: co-op difficulty scaling is brutal (4-5x harder with 2 players) and player count is dropping fast.
I mainly play co-op roguelute/roguelikes and this is the best one I've come across. The unique feeling of each character and the decision making along with responsive combat. Those are the reason I've spent and will continue to spend hours upon hours in this game.
I love this game - I play so often with friends. It always draws us back in. Game is still being regularly updated.
Fun and challenging game which is even better with friends :)
the gameplay is fun. but honestly it has the greatest art style in a game i have ever seen
Honestly great game. I've beat nightmare mode with all but two characters and dropped a ton of great hours doing it. I keep coming back to it. It's fun solo and super fun coop. I will say coop scales really hard. Played even with two people is easily 4-5x harder than playing solo. I haven't played with 4 people yet but I've heard the scaling keeps getting crazier. Very fun and challenging.
For solo play I can't really recommend it. There are too many timed events that if you don't complete or get done in time it punishes you even further. Hades (or Hades clones) provide a much more enjoyable experience. I do love the idea though.
