Why Outhold Is Trending Right Now

Outhold is trending down hard (-50% over 7 days), but it's still holding solid player engagement at 621 peak CCU. The real story: 86% positive reviews (598 ratings) suggest the game's niche audience—strategy and indie fans—love it. Three months post-launch, the drop-off is normal for a short, self-contained title.

Unlike most roguelikes that lean on randomness, Outhold doubles down on tower defense strategy and meta-progression. You're building synergies and testing builds, not just rolling the dice. It's built for players who want crunch without bloat—5–10 hour completionists will see everything; challenge hunters have endgame content to grind.

Players love the strategic depth and meta-progression—builds feel meaningful, not random. The main knock: the campaign is short, and some difficulty spikes feel puzzle-like rather than skill-based.

👍 Recommended 10h played

It's good. The metaprogression is solid, the strategy is fun with plenty of options. Yes, some situations are kind of puzzle-ish, but solving them is fun - and not "obnoxiously bad puzzle game" fun. I 100%'d it because I had fun, not because I felt like I had to. There are new layers to play with all the way through the end.

👍 Recommended 5h played

It's a simple looking game but the amount of strategy needed is NOT simple. Definitely a good... 5-10 hour spender for its price.

👍 Recommended 4h played

Beat the game in 1 sitting. Very addictive I wish there were more levels! Worth the fiver I paid for it

👍 Recommended 3h played

Fun, tricky but overly difficult little TD with a interesting skill tree. Main game is fairly short, but there are tons of challenges and different modes to tackle with new builds and ideas.

👍 Recommended 11h played

As others have said, there's not much there, but also the game is ~£5 so I don't think it's unreasonable. It's a polished experience, fun, simple, definitely scope for the developer to add more stuff but if you seriously think you're getting mugged off for a fiver I think you'd better stick to the free section on Steam

👎 Not Recommended 2h played

This game is a great game, and I love the idea of the game, but my issue with it is the length of how many levels there are. There are only 10 levels, and the demo is 1/3 of the entire game. When this game grows to have more levels, it will be a lot more enjoyable.
