PC (Steam) Shooter $4.79 Positive 12 reviews

Why Imposters Is Trending Right Now

Imposters launched 12 days ago with an 83% positive review score from engaged early players, though peak concurrent players sit at just 31. The asymmetrical hunter-vs-aliens premise has generated immediate enthusiasm for group play. The +0% 7-day trend indicates it's stabilized rather than rapidly gaining traction, which is typical for ultra-niche indie releases.

What sets Imposters apart is its asymmetrical core: one player hunts aliens disguised as elk while others scheme to abduct them undetected. At $4.79, it's an ultra-cheap entry point for streamers, content creators, and friend groups seeking absurdist party game chaos. This is designed for social hilarity, not competitive ranked play.

I saw a reel of this game on Instagram and thought it looked cool. There are a lot of funny moments and the gameplay is actually really fun. Definitely recommend. At the moment the menu is a little glitchy but even so the game is a 10/10.

This game is SO fun! I really enjoy it a lot. I want to get a whole group of friends and watch the chaos unfold. Definitely excited for future updates (as the game may need a bit more polish). I love the emotes you can make as an elk. And the aliens are cute. This game will teach you the art of gaslighting and rage baiting your friends. 10/10!

Common Questions About Imposters

Is Imposters worth buying in 2026?

Yes—if you have friends. The 83% positive score and $4.79 price make it a low-risk squad purchase. However, skip it if you're solo-queueing; the 31 peak concurrent players means you'll need to bring your own 4 friends to fill a lobby. Wait for a polish patch if unfinished UI bothers you.

How many players does Imposters have?

Peak concurrent players: 31 in the first 24 hours. The +0% 7-day trend means player count is flat—neither growing nor cratering. For a 12-day-old indie title, stabilization is actually healthy; expect the player base to remain small but stable unless viral content changes momentum.

Is Imposters multiplayer or co-op?

Imposters is pure asymmetrical multiplayer for up to 5 players. There's no singleplayer campaign or PvE—one player hunts four aliens disguised as elk. No crossplay information is available yet; assume Windows-only at launch.

How long does it take to beat Imposters?

Imposters has no story completion or progression tree. Matches are round-based, lasting roughly 5-15 minutes depending on team strategy. The game is designed for endless replayable sessions with friends rather than traditional hours-to-complete gameplay. Expect 10+ hours of chaos if you have a dedicated squad.
