Why Far Cry® 5 Is Trending Right Now
Far Cry 5 is holding steady with 7,019 peak players in 24 hours, backed by an 81% positive rating across 73,420 reviews. However, the 7-day trend shows a sharp -65% decline, typical for an 8-year-old title—though the strong review ratio suggests it still resonates with the right audience.
Far Cry 5 stands out for its atmospheric open-world design that prioritizes vibe and exploration over narrative—think fishing, hunting, and just existing in Hope County—rather than competing on story depth. It's a perfect fit for players who value sandbox exploration and co-op sessions over cutscene-heavy campaigns.

What the Community Is Saying
Players rave about the game's singular atmospheric vibe and open-world freedom to explore Hope County—hunting, fishing, and just living in the sandbox. The main criticism: the story is forgettable and constantly interrupted by forced antagonist kidnappings, making narrative feel secondary to the atmosphere.
There is a specific feel to this game that no other game has yet to achieve again.
Nothing like getting kidnapped every 12 minutes by a cult with a Spotify playlist 8/10
the vibe part, I swear I like part 5 the most, I've played more than 100 hours, damn, the plot isn't very interesting, but who cares, there's a forest, water, fishing, hunting, it's an American vibe
It's honestly a good game. The game can be quite buggy sometimes, but not like game breaking mostly funny/odd stuff tend to happen. But it's very buggy when you play co-op (Or as I like to call it, Desync Cry 5.), atleast in my experience with it. Would I recommend this at full price? Not really, but you do you. I love Cheeseburger, he's the best character in the whole Far Cry franchise.
On the one hand, this game is quite good compared to the previous series, but on the other hand, this game is not very memorable.
It's a jarring juxtaposition of an "open-world" game where you have absolutely zero agency. The best part was when I got shot by bliss bullets while flying in a helicopter about half a kilometer off the ground because the story had to progress at that exact moment.
