Why Enarian Online Is Trending Right Now
Enarian Online launched just 3 days ago and already has a 91% positive review score from 22 players—an exceptional first impression for a text-based ARPG. With 34 concurrent players at peak and a 0% trend, it's holding steady as a launch-day niche hit that's resonating hard with its target audience of retro gaming enthusiasts.
This is a modern GUI-wrapped MUD: 5 classes, 50 levels, 9 realms, 100+ skills, and procedural loot systems built for players who grew up on Zork, classic MUDs, or Path of Exile's endgame treadmill. It's not trying to be mainstream—it's hyper-focused on giving seasoned old-school gamers exactly what they want.

What the Community Is Saying
Players rave about how perfectly it captures classic MUD nostalgia with a modern UI and active developer support. The main caveat: it's a hyper-niche experience that will only click for retro gaming diehards—casual players won't get it.
bought game, looked up and 7 hours had past and had to sneak into bed so the wife doesn't knock me out. good game.
Long term MUD player/fan + 12 years into path of exile. Game was basically made for me by god himself. If either of those are of interest to you give Enaria a look! The dev has been very quick to make changes and is quite active in the discord.
Great way to introduce you to the old school ways of MUDs. Great UI and has a pretty simplistic dungeon crawling system built within. Highly recommend just make sure you READ the TUTORIAL!
Grew up playing these in their prime and inception. Can not recommend this enough. It is everything remembered and everything we wish we would have had. It's built well and a blast. Worst case, you have fun and support a dev.
This is a hyper-niche game, but if you cut your teeth gaming with classics like Zork or any of the early internet MUDS. This game's for you. Take those gaming icons, run them through a rudimentary GUI builder and sprinkle in a few creature comforts (e.g. hyper-linking off ingame items) and you'll find this gem. It's got a small market for sure, but it's the only thing in its class.
Just about everything in this game is AI, and I would not recommend ever running out of lives, since you cannot do anything once you've run out. If you don't have the gold on hand to purchase more, your character is bricked. I could not immediately see a means to delete and remake the character, either, so you're kind of SOL.

Estimate 15–30 hours for the main story through 50 levels and 9 realms, likely 40+ hours for completionists chasing optimal builds and loot. One player mentioned losing 7 hours in a single session, so it's built for long engagement stretches if you're in the target audience.
