Coming from a long time PKMN fan, this was awesome. This was my first introduction to Digimon and its not as overwhelming as I thought it would be. Graphics and cutscenes are cool and the branching evolutions are as well. The only thing I had a gripe with was not including the extra dungeons. Other than that completely worth it.
If you love Digimon, You'll love this game! Definitely Play it whenever you get the chance and it makes Digivolving way easier... Just need to level up your AGENT Rank to get the Higher Levels of Digimon but its worth it!
This is the first Digimon game I've played but wow, it's incredible. I haven't consumed anything Digimon related since the Data Squad anime that aired decades ago, but this game reminded me how much I used to enjoy this series. I liked the story a lot more than I thought I would. The characters are great and the music is also fire, I need that soundtrack. I highly recommend playing this even if you're not super into Digimon, it's a great RPG.
overall, i really enjoyed the game. recording each of the Digimon evolutions in the field guide was probably my favorite part. there are quality of life issues like ease of fast traveling, level up is a pain to grind, and the narrative was extremely dry. i enjoyed more of the sidequests' stories more than the main plot. if you enjoy collecting and achievement hunting/grinding the game has to offer, then this just might be up your alley.
This is definitely the best Digimon game so far, and it has a lot of features that are nice like auto battles, healing after fights, etc. Unfortunately, it still is just a massive grind that just really saps the fun out of it
