Honestly, this might one of the best games I've ever played. I went in to Cult Of The Lamb and didn't know what to expect, and what I got was pure addiction. 10/10
I love this game and my own little cult. I also have the woolhaven expansion I played through and I think it adds a lot to the game and is super fun too. Definitely recommend.
This game is immaculate. Equal parts roguelite dungeon crawler and social management sim, this game oozes charm. The difficulty options are robust, and you are not locked into a particular difficulty once you start the game. Woolhaven is much more substantial than I expected; while they could have easily sold this separately as a stand alone game, I am glad they didn't.
Super cute animation and design, and a perfect balance of combat and cozy...farming? community building? one of the best gifts i've received. i plowed through the game and happily continued playing after completing the story, but the woolhaven DLC definitely gave the game new life. i'm afraid i will be playing every evening for the foreseeable future
Neither the rougelike or cult management is very deep and it does get stale after a while because the game is super easy and basic in terms of combat and exploration but i still think its worth playing for the outstanding music and style it has. Its not mindblowing or anything but for, what it is, its super chill and hard to not fall in love with it.
Looks very pretty, but is very shallow. The settlement progression is generally arbitrary/obvious, so unlocked components are more or less furniture rather than features. The dungeon progression gets stale very quickly, with low variety of environments and enemies. For stardew valley fans, maybe play SDV instead. For Hades, maybe play Hades instead. You'll not find what you're looking for here.
