Players love the budget price, accessibility, and charm of the medieval roguelike setting with meaningful choices. The main criticism is repetitive gameplay and shallow content—players want more town variety, encounters, and strategic depth to justify replays.

Why not... my rating is 55 of 100. For 6 bucks, quick one evening game, its ok.

Fun to play, although short. Worth the price. Could easily handle an expansion.

It's OK. Good price point. Got kind of repetitive. It has the base functionality and feel of Darklands, a game of the like I have never seen again in 30 years. Now - flesh it out and make it a full Darlkands clone.

At 25% off, this game works fine. £5 for something i could lose a few hours into without worry and enjoyment isnt a bad trade. The game isnt deep, it is not hard. There is no skill required, just travel around, make some money, buy weapons and fight some people. I recommend this to anyone with a few quid spare and that are happy to lose a couple of hours into a fun little indie

👍 Recommended 4h played

4 hours of play time; Its a simple game, but if you like the ad video from the store page you will probably enjoy the game. With that said- I probably wont play more than I have because its a little repetitive. *If they add more towns or more experiences I think it could be a great game. Worth the $10 I spent on it.

👎 Not Recommended 4h played

stuck with random characters, stats and perks, extremely slow and boring then die due to a random encounter you should win having superior armor and weapons.

Common Questions About Beggar's Road

Is Beggar's Road worth buying in 2026?

Yes, if you want a short, charming medieval roguelike. The 89% positive review score (19 reviews) and $5.99 price make it a fair gamble for 4-5 hours. Reviews confirm it delivers value for the cost, though depth is limited—it's a one-evening distraction, not a long-term commitment.

How many players does Beggar's Road have?

0 peak concurrent players in the last 24 hours with a +0% trend. Despite launching 5 days ago with positive reviews, it has failed to gain player traction. As a single-player roguelike, CCU is less relevant—low player count reflects marketing/visibility issues, not quality.

Is Beggar's Road multiplayer or co-op?

Beggar's Road is single-player only. No multiplayer, co-op, or PvP modes. You recruit AI companions and navigate towns solo; all choices and alliances are personal to your playthrough.

How long does it take to beat Beggar's Road?

Expect 4-5 hours for a full playthrough based on early reviews. It's designed as a one-evening experience. Replay value comes from procedural encounters and branching alliances, though reviewers note the core loop (travel, earn, buy, fight) becomes repetitive without more town variety.
