Why ARMORED CORE™ VI FIRES OF RUBICON™ Is Trending Right Now
ARMORED CORE VI maintains exceptional review ratings with 94% positive across 50,986 player reviews and an 86/100 Metacritic score, marking FromSoftware's strongest launch in years. However, the playerbase is in freefall—down 75% over 7 days with just 2,765 peak concurrent players, signaling it's deep in its post-launch decline. The critical consensus remains stellar; the activity tells you this game's peak momentum has passed.
This is a pure action-mecha experience with FromSoftware's signature tight combat and deep customization—far more niche than their Souls games. The target audience is mecha enthusiasts and players chasing challenging, story-driven action with multiple endings and spectacular boss design. Combat variety, build depth, and presentation excellence appeal to hardcore action fans, but the difficulty and mecha focus aren't for everyone.
Key Stats
What the Community Is Saying
Players consistently rave about combat tightness, mecha customization depth, stunning presentation, and narrative payoff—the boss design is AAA-tier. The critical pushback: it's a niche, punishing action game with broken PvP balance, appealing only to hardcore FromSoftware fans and mecha enthusiasts.
My introduction to the series and now one of my favorite games ever. Fun combat, cool mech customization, and story that had me invested enough to get each ending and see the little differences in each interaction. For a game that I enjoyed enough to 100%, I'd absolutely recommend if you like action games or are a fan of mechs
Worth paying full price, gameplay is fun and engaging.
Game is good up until the point you get to A - S rank in PVP. Then you start getting brutally molested by players who have more than 120 ping and use rocket launchers, dual - Zimms and kite. Besides that -- good game got me into AC4FA AC3LR and other entries.
genuinely the coolest game I've ever played. The scale of the environment, the soundtrack, the characters and story, the combat and the presentation of boss fights: all absolutely S tier. Awe-inspiring game.
Not for everyone, but if you like Mecha and Explosions with good combat and variety you can try it.
