Two of my friends were moved to Arma from Squad, then one of them gifted it to me... Not necessarily better than Squad, very dependant on servers and communities+mods. You have more freedom and matches last way longer -trust me- than Squad. Its a unique experience in its own way, I enjoy combined arms of Squad and being able to whatever you want in Arma. Now we have two different PTSD and nostalgia moments
Amazing mods and support that make the game realistic. Campaign is even solid in itself to get you to learn Arma functions. One of the best, makes me excited for what A4 will bring.
most fun ive had gaming, This is the type of game where patience pays off and rewards you with awesome experiences once you get your head around things and adapt to different scenarios and game modes
I love walking in the dark for over 30 minutes to only get ambushed by a random squad that had also been walking in the dark for the last 30 minutes. In all seriousness this game is great and has an amazing modding scene with many diverse servers.
Extremely fun though can become stale at times, hackers/modders ruined the fun as they got around the anti-cheat. This is still a lot of fun with a well formed squad.
Insane how the game gets worse and worse with every update they introduce, both performance and gameplay wise, and the amount of bugs is still horrific. It is fun, and I'd love to love it, but unless Bohemia finally fixes their game - you're going to buy a permit to be their unpaid tester.
