Players love Anno 1800's intricate city-building mechanics, therapeutic gameplay loop, and strong economy simulation—many call it among the best city builders. The main criticism is the forced always-online connection to Ubisoft's servers, which frustrates offline players.

I only dislike the constant need for an online connection to ubisofts servers. I only want campaign/offline play, but if the server is down, i start the game. This is utterly stupid.

Very complex but engaging, rewarding to see vibrant cities grow, amazing detail, good diplomacy and trade, very therapeutic game. One of the best city builders there is.

I really like Anno, it is one of those immersive city builders. Only thing that is missing for me is island combat and multiplayers that contains more than 4 players/AI's

I love love love this game!!! Felt hard at the start and I probably restarted the game at least 5 times because of the freaking pirate. But I love it. Will try to play the sandbox next
